Internal Medicine at Rush is unique in that we are a small primary care practice located at a large, world-class medical center. Due to this, we are able to provide personalized care and a more intimate environment while benefitting from being in the heart of Rush's campus. We believe in prevention and practice routine health maintenance at every visit in order to detect and treat health conditions before they become problematic. Additionally, we help coordinate the care our patients receive from specialists.

For urgent matters, there is always a doctor on call, and you can send a message through MyChart to your physician. Together with the Walk-In Clinic, located in the Professional Building Suite 155 (elevator 3) on Rush's campus, these services ensure that our patients have continuous access to high-quality medical care.

We look at ourselves as partners in your overall well-being, and are excited to work with you towards whatever health goals you may wish to achieve.

MEET OUR TEAM
Nancy Bryan, DO, MPH, attended the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed her residency training in internal medicine at Rush and Cook County Hospitals.  Working as an osteopathic physician, Dr. Bryan takes a holistic approach to health care.  She emphasizes preventative health maintenance such as pap smears and breast exams.  Dr. Bryan also serves as an assistant professor at the Rush University School of Medicine, teaching students how to perform physical examinations.

Nan Martin, RN, BSN, received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University and has been working as a nurse for the past 32 years. She began her career in oncology, but for the last 16 years she has worked in internal medicine.  Above all else, Martin views herself as a patient educator.  She takes pride in her ability to teach patients about their health conditions and procedures in order to minimize anxiety.  Martin also uses education as a means to encourage prevention and foster a healthy lifestyle.

Shaila Pai-Verma, MD, completed her medical education at Kasturba Medical College in India, and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.  She has been practicing medicine in Chicago since 2000, and working at Rush since 2009.  Dr. Pai-Verma specializes in preventative health maintenance as well as management of chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes and COPD.  She works hard to develop a close relationship with her patients because she believes that this is the best way to provide high quality care.
